Infant School
A Nurturing Start to Lifelong Learning
At ISM’s Infant School, we believe that the early years lay the foundation for a child’s love of learning and personal development. Our Nursery, Pre-school, and Reception classes (ages 3 to 5) provide a welcoming, engaging, and caring environment where young learners feel safe, valued, and inspired to explore the world around them.

Following the highly regarded Cambridge International Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) syllabus, we offer a balanced, play-based curriculum that fosters curiosity, independence, and confidence. Our classrooms and outdoor spaces are thoughtfully designed to encourage creativity, exploration, and collaborative learning, ensuring that every child experiences education as an exciting journey tailored to their unique needs and interests.

We understand that transitioning into a new school environment is a significant milestone for both children and their families. That’s why our pastoral care program is at the heart of everything we do, providing emotional and social support to help children settle in with ease. Through thoughtful guidance, structured routines, and open communication with families, we create a seamless and reassuring introduction to school life.

At ISM, every child is recognized as an individual, and we work closely with families to nurture their personal strengths. Our dedicated educators are committed to cultivating a lifelong passion for learning through engaging activities, hands-on experiences, and interactive lessons across a broad curriculum. Whether it’s developing early literacy and numeracy skills, expressing creativity through art and music, or building friendships and social awareness, our students are encouraged to grow in a positive and enriching environment.

Through our holistic approach to education, we support each child's social, emotional, and cultural development, helping them gain confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of self. By fostering curiosity and encouraging exploration, we lay the foundations for academic success while ensuring that childhood remains joyful and fulfilling.

We invite you to visit ISM’s Infant School and experience the warmth, kindness, and excellence that define our learning community.

Cambridge Early Years (EYFS) Curriculum

Cambridge Early Years is a thoughtfully designed program for children aged 3 to 6, providing them with the best start to their educational journey. As the first stage in the Cambridge Pathway, it lays the groundwork for future academic success by fostering curiosity, confidence, and key developmental milestones.

Built on a holistic approach, the curriculum focuses on the whole child, connecting their growth to the world around them. Learning is structured through a spiral approach, allowing children to revisit concepts with increasing depth, reinforcing understanding and skills over time. The curriculum also supports bilingual and multilingual learners, making it accessible to children with diverse language backgrounds.

With internationally recognized benchmarks guiding progress, Cambridge Early Years helps educators monitor and support each child's development while ensuring a seamless transition into Cambridge Primary or the next stage of learning. Content is carefully organized into six curriculum areas, providing a well-rounded foundation that nurtures creativity, social-emotional skills, and academic growth in an engaging and supportive environment.

  • It helps children develop the knowledge, understanding and skills they need for the next stage in their education – whether they move on to Cambridge Primary or another programme.
  • It is a child-centred, play-based programme that helps young learners to develop at their own pace. It encourages them to act independently, make their own choices and discover feelings of self-worth.
  • It includes everything you need for high-quality learning: a holistic, balanced curriculum, engaging classroom resources, professional development and assessment approaches to help you measure your learners’ progress.
  • It supports learners, whatever their level of English when they begin the programme. We also help you offer a bilingual or multilingual approach if learners have a home language other than English.
